From my trip to Arizona on which I took the Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 Distagon from Brent Rents Lenses.

Half of the joy of this lens was just having something attached to my camera that said Zeiss on it. Much like putting a Mercedes hood ornament on my Dodge. The quality that Ziess is known for was not lost on this lens. The construction is impeccable and felt like it would last forever. The only thing keeping me from adding this to my lens kit is it is manual focus. I tend to go for spontaneous shots on the move and this lens needs you to stop and think about what you are doing. That is probably a good thing as we enter into an over-saturated photography market that is flooded with images that seem to have little thought behind them. I misfocused far too many shots as my eyes are not good enough to use the viewfinder and a wide angle lens on manual focus. One would need to tripod mount this lens and use live view to get sharp images.

Below are some samples.
