On Saturday, October 11 at the M‑F Drive‑In Theater near Walla Walla, the community gathered for the premiere of the documentary Roll Modelz — a powerful exploration of lowrider culture and Chicano identity in Eastern Washington. At the heart of this project is filmmaker-photographer Yahir Tzec-Carrasco, a 2025 graduate of Whitman College. 

Yahir led the effort alongside teammate Oliver Rodriguez Dickson (also Whitman ’25), joining local lowrider club members to craft a story grounded in community, resilience and art.  My lens captured the evening’s energy — from the gleaming custom cars and the gathering of supporters, to the moment the screen lit up and the narrative rolled into view.
